Town of Windsor
10am to 1pm
The holidays will be here before you know it—what are you going to give your friends, neighbors and co-workers this year? Learn how to make soap and you can have wonderful presents ready to give everyone on your “nice” list. This class will show you step-by-step how to make a batch of cold process soap from scratch. We will thoroughly cover the ingredients required, tools needed, and how to safely work with sodium hydroxide at home. After an instructor-led demonstration shows how to make soap from start to almost-finish, we will end with students finishing a one-pound loaf to take home, which will be cut into four bars after curing.
For this holiday themed class, we’ll be making our own version of candy canes--Peppermint & Pink Himalayan Salt Bar Soap. Please bring an old hand towel to wrap your soap, and wear long sleeves and long pants. An additional materials fee of $20 is payable that day to the instructor, which covers all soap supplies, instructional packet, and a one-pound wooden soap mold for each student.
