Dear Awesome Future Junior Counselor,
Welcome to Farm Camp! This is our second year of Farm Camp, and our first year with a volunteer leadership component. This was very important to us, as we were both volunteer junior counselors growing up. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for middle school students to gain some leadership skills and experience working with kids, while having the chance to have fun at camp too. Here’s more info on what to expect:
THE PROGRAM: JUNIOR COUNSELOR (J.C.) VOLUNTEERS
The Junior Counselors will be under the direct supervision of the Camp Director and will build leadership skills while assisting with direct, hands-on camp support. This will include helping prep activities and cooking projects, set up and clean up, leading songs and games with the campers, helping supervise the campers during free play, etc. Our campers are in grades K to 5.
• J.C.s will participate in 1 to 2 weeks of camp. Camp runs Monday through Thursday the weeks of June 19th, June 26th and July 10th. Camp hours are 9 to 2:30pm and we ask JC’s to arrive around 8:45.
• For J.C.s, we have a mandatory training day on Friday, June 16 from 10 to 1:30
• The Junior Counselor program will be held outdoors at The Goat Farm, 1200 Ludwig Avenue, Santa Rosa.
Please plan on bringing a nutritious lunch every day except Thursday (pizza day!), and water and sunblock everyday.
Must submit a completed application before the deadline of May 15
Must be entering middle school (at a minimum).
Must be available for an interview if you are new to The Goat Farm
